Top Ten TuesdayWe saw Chris's aunt and uncle, Phil & Lisa, when we were in Boise for a wedding a few weeks ago. We always love visiting with them, and they were so generous to help out with our kids. Their generosity always ends with us leaving their home with twice the amount of baggage, since their boys are just older than ours, and we get all their clothes as hand-me-downs. On this particular visit, we were overwhelmed. Not only did they load us up with bags of clothes and vegetables from their garden, but they sent us home with a new addiction, and supplies to feed it.
The night we were up late gabbing, they made us Italian Sodas--which we loved. Chris couldn't remember ever having one before, and I hadn't had one in years. We were anxious to see how they made them. They showed us the process, and explained that they had a store in town that sold the flavored syrup at a great price. Of course, we couldn't leave town without checking it out, so the next day--in between the wedding and the reception--we dashed over to stock up.
-Add 2 or 3 oz. of a Flavored Syrup of Your Choice
-Add 2 oz. Half and Half
-Fill with Club Soda
-Top with Whipping Cream
-Enjoy!
(Don't expect two people who couldn't come home with less than 24 bottles to be able to rank the following in any particular order)
- Banana
- Creme de Menthe
- Egg Nog
- Root Beer
- Pina Colada
- Watermelon
- Chocolate Mint
- Caramel
- Vanilla
- Butter Rum

YUMMMM! Meta served these at her wedding reception. Strawberry is my favorite!
Can I see a picture of you taking the picture of the bottles? That must have been a balanding act. I love Italian sodas! Tim had never had one before he met me...and he's 1/2 Italian! Go figure!
I really did think you were lying when you said those were all yours and not a picture of the store. I was thinking, man I wonder what the the store owner thought of her taking all these pictures. . .lol. . I LOVE Italian Sodas!! I don't know if Kevin's had one or not. . .
Fabulous! What a wonderful array of flavors! Thanks for sharing, I shall enjoy one while lying in my hammock, being fanned by Eli, the pool boy!
Looks like fun and like trouble! Those syrups are fantastic in soda to. Who doesn't love a vanilla coke!
ooh, these sound delicious. It sounds like I'm in the minority since I've never had one, but it's been added to (and subsequently bumped to the top of)my list of yummy treats to eat. :)
Wish I lived next door so I could borrow some syrup. It looks like you might have enough to share. lol
Oh My! That is a crazy lot of syrup! My favorite is peach, yum-o.
while looking at the picture of all the flavorings i was thinking to myself, "she's crazy to have them on top of her cabinets...isn't she worried about them all falling off during an earthquake?" then i remembered you were not in CA. silly me...
Very PW-esque of you. My favorite is Green Apple. Do you have that kind?
Amy
Yum, that sounds good, but we don't have it. Time for another trip to the store...?
