Clark Soda Fountain?

Top Ten Tuesday

We saw Chris's aunt and uncle, Phil & Lisa, when we were in Boise for a wedding a few weeks ago. We always love visiting with them, and they were so generous to help out with our kids. Their generosity always ends with us leaving their home with twice the amount of baggage, since their boys are just older than ours, and we get all their clothes as hand-me-downs. On this particular visit, we were overwhelmed. Not only did they load us up with bags of clothes and vegetables from their garden, but they sent us home with a new addiction, and supplies to feed it.

The night we were up late gabbing, they made us Italian Sodas--which we loved. Chris couldn't remember ever having one before, and I hadn't had one in years. We were anxious to see how they made them. They showed us the process, and explained that they had a store in town that sold the flavored syrup at a great price. Of course, we couldn't leave town without checking it out, so the next day--in between the wedding and the reception--we dashed over to stock up.

The store had a full aisle of flavors for us to choose from, which proved to be such a difficult process that we were almost late to the reception.

The above photos were not taken in the store. That is what we brought home with us! I guess I can stop worrying now about what to put on top of my kitchen cabinets:
How To Make an Italian Soda-Fill a 20-oz cup 1/3 full with Ice
-Add 2 or 3 oz. of a Flavored Syrup of Your Choice
-Add 2 oz. Half and Half
-Fill with Club Soda
-Top with Whipping Cream
-Enjoy!

You can click on the above photo to see our flavors up close.

Top Ten: Flavors for Italian Soda
(Don't expect two people who couldn't come home with less than 24 bottles to be able to rank the following in any particular order)
  1. Banana
  2. Creme de Menthe
  3. Egg Nog
  4. Root Beer
  5. Pina Colada
  6. Watermelon
  7. Chocolate Mint
  8. Caramel
  9. Vanilla
  10. Butter Rum
Any other suggestions?

ooh, these sound delicious. It sounds like I'm in the minority since I've never had one, but it's been added to (and subsequently bumped to the top of)my list of yummy treats to eat. :)
Wish I lived next door so I could borrow some syrup. It looks like you might have enough to share. lol
