Countdown to Christmas

Clark Christmas Candy Countdowns
This is how we count down the 12 Days of Christmas.

They are simple to make, and only require plastic wrap, ribbon, and candy.
Just lay out the plastic wrap, place the candies in a row down the center, roll the wrap, and tie a piece of ribbon between each piece (or group of pieces if you want one countdown for the whole family). Any candy will do , but we use every type of Hershey Kiss we can get our hands on: Kisses, Hugs, Caramel, Hot Cocoa, Special Dark, Cherry Cordial, Almond, Peanut Butter, Peppermint...
Yummy!Do you have an advent calendar or other countdown tradition?

  2. This year we're doing the 12 days of Christmas for our kids in their stockings. We told them Santa is doing a practice run so he's going to leave them something every day. Every morning is so much fun!

I had found a lot of great little gifts, mostly at the Target Dollar Spot, and I thought this would be a fun way of helping them get more enjoyment out of each one instead of having them be lost in the chaos of Christmas.

  3. I made the paper chains this year and I found a cool book idea on a friends blog. You find all your Christmas books and wrap them and put a number on each one. The kids get to open and read a book every night. I didn't see that idea until Tuesday or so, so we have done it for the 12 days of Christmas. The girls can't believe they get to open a present everyday, it's pretty cool. We love our countdown...it wouldn't be Christmas without it, thanks!

  4. Our countdown is your countdown! We adorn our dorn with the little kisses you send and well, let's be honest, we have no kids so sometimes I look at it and think, oops, I don't think we've eaten our kisses for a couple of days!
    Thanks!

  5. I love your idea (the cherry kisses are my FAVORITE). We always buy the European chocolate advent boxes at Cost Plus World Market. If you wait until November 30 they are usually on sale for a couple of dollars. They have a beautiful Christmas picture on the front, with 25 numbered doors that you open each day of December leading up to Christmas. The chocolate is not amazing, but at least it doesn't tempt me too much. :)
